inspiration

we all come across images, sculptures, magazines, etc. that inspire us to create.  i'm lucky enough to be surrounded by incredibly talented individuals that constantly encourage me to raise the bar.  below are some things that have crossed my plate and inspired me in some form or another~

we must always be sure not to take ourselves too seriously. i loved this graphic when i saw it on paperlesspost.com

find inspiration in a small space

home office
as the lines are blended between work and home, i think we all find we need a dedicated, comfortable space to focus.  that can be somewhat tricky in some of the 'efficiently,' sized apartments many of us inhabit though : )  i flipboarded through this website and came across some clever ways to create inspiring spaces within a small footprint.  have a look: digsdigs

this is one of the reasons i like greenpoint...

old hollywood

greenpoint is cool for many reasons but one of them is because you come across great little boutiques that have eclectic fashion finds and accessories.  one of my favorites is old hollywood. it's right on franklin ave and alter, another great boutique is just across the street.  the prices are a little steep but the goods are limited and ligit. perfect party frocks await!

talia, a dear friend, sent this my way and i thought the overall concept and attention to detail was gorgeous!

german design agency korefe has created the world’s first cookbook which you can read, cook and eat. developed as a special project for a large publisher, “The Real Cookbook” is made out of 100% fresh pasta dough sheets. the book comes with a recipe on how to make a traditional lasagne, using it’s “pages” as the main ingredient.

brooklyn cakery
brooklyn cakery

ms. jennifer hamden of brooklyn cakery is turning out beautiful, custom cakes, cupcakes and treats made from only the finest quality organic ingredients.  i had the pleasure of meeting her when she catered about 200 mini cupcakes for a holiday party i helped host in our condo building a couple years ago.  the cupcakes were perfect for a large party and she dropped them off the morning of to ensure freshness.  i also had her put together a much smaller order of lemon cupcakes and mini whoppie pies for a little get-together my girfriends and i threw before a night out.  jennifer has a keen eye for design and has created a bit of a niche doing children's sweets as well. check out her blog to inspire your baking or to place an order~
